The 24th Ipswich Cub Pack

Welcome to our Cub's page, we hope you have fun reading it and if you would like to join us as a Cub or Cub Pack leader Please do not hesitate to contact the Group Scout Leader (details on home page).
You can access the Cubs calendar on the hyperlink below to see the forecasted events for the current term.
The cub scouts are the middle section of the group. These are aged from 8yrs to 10 ½ yrs old. Members can join this section six months early if they have missed beaver scouts or have developed quickly in the beavers, and they can also move on to the Scout section in the same manner. (This is by local agreement within the 24th Ipswich Scout Group).
The cubs program is still about learning and having fun, but with a more detailed tasks and challenges to achieve there badge work. However the fun of learning by games is still important within this section.
The cubs badge work system is set out in a book obtainable from the leaders (small fee*). These books are hard wearing and will provide all the information your Son / Daughter requires to complete some of the challenges. They will complete some as a pack, but your Son / Daughter will have the choice to complete more if they want too. This will only advance there learning and life skills, as the badges are aimed at creating a positive outcome for the future.
The cub section also does camping, this is under canvas unlike beavers who are only allowed sleep over's in buildings. The cub pack can be away for up to a week at any time under supervision and can travel anywhere in the uk or abroad. The activities during camp could be archery, rifle shooting climbing, swimming, high ropes courses. The list goes on.
